About
Swiss artist Marco Pittori developed a new approach to photography by bringing iconic photographs into conversation with other art forms. His creative artworks are often based on his own photographs. He also uses licensed photographs, such as photographs from renowned Los Angeles photographer Brad Elterman to create his layered works. Digital art has allowed him to inject the rawness of the world into the controlled nature of photography and create powerful, atmospheric hybrid works.

Marco Pittori was born in 1978 in Switzerland. His works have been exhibited internationally since 1999. His collectors include many Los Angeles celebrities. Some works in Marco Pittori’s current series of multi-layered photographs are based on Brad Elterman’s iconic images “Behind the Beverly Hills Hotel, 1977.” Motifs are carefully placed and layered until they reveal a whole new reality behind the images. "Brad’s photos provide a rare, often raunchy glimpse into a rock and roll history where it seems Brad is always at the right place at the right time, camera ready.” They are set in a new context and transformed with the help of strong colors. Realities that seemed irrevocable ask us to question facts and to rethink again.
